A set of permissions that controls which applications, actions, sites and data a user can access. Users get their access by belonging to groups.

At Riverbend The TECH-TP1 group can view and update work orders at TP1 but cannot approve POs.

Common Misconception
Giving everyone a few big groups is quick at first but hard to audit later. Role-based groups age better.
Version Note
In MAS 9.1, a security group application is also available at the suite level.
