The current state of an asset. Common out-of-the-box values include NOT READY, OPERATING and DECOMMISSIONED, and organizations often add synonyms for their own needs.

At Riverbend When P-101 is installed and commissioned, it moves from NOT READY to OPERATING.

Common Misconception
An asset can be OPERATING while it is down for a repair. Whether it is running right now is tracked separately through downtime reporting.
